What Do Customers Say About the PostmarkApp ?
capterra.com
Positive reviews:
“The Ultimate Solution for High-Deliverability Transactional Emails. My experience with Postmark was good. It sends email in quick time. But because of it’s prizing my client asked to search some other tool.” – Himanshu V. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ January 25, 2025
“Best customer service for an email service” – Gideon A. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Negative reviews:
“Postmark used to be amazing… RIP Postmark. Postmark used to be amazing before it was bought by ActiveCampaign. I used to recommend it to all my friends, colleagues and clients. I no longer do. I have lost so many emails due to sneaky changes in their pricing tier without proper notice and extremely poor customer service. While they used to care about the customer most than anything, they’ve now become soulless, uncaring and unapologetic. RIP Postmark.” – Vadim K. ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 9, 2025

“Great SMTP provider. It’s a great SMTP provider that is easy to setup as well as great delivery and clean IPs on top of that postmark also has a DMARC reporting tool which I like and recommend to any begginer or non-techy person out there. Support is great and quick to reply to any issues you might have.” – Dame B. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ March 31, 2025

Positive reviews:
“The documentation feels a little fragmented – some things are in the official API documentation, while other things missing from the official documentation are included in blog posts or other posts within the Support Center.” – Gregor S. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Postmark’s pricing is on the higher end compared to other email service providers” – Himanshu V. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Positive reviews:
“I absolutely love postmark and wish they charged more . We’re using Postmark to send all our transactional emails in our SaaS product and we’ve chosen it over the Sendgrid which frankly speaking, I just couldn’t get to work at all. We’ve been using it for 2 years now and somehow still haven’t exceeded the free quota. I’d really like to support the product and wish they charged more or earlier for it. Keep up the good work, Wildbit!” – Maxim L. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Reliable and hassle-free email delivery. We switched over to Postmark from a competitor when we started to have significant email delivery problems. The transition went very smooth since they had a guide on exactly how to transfer from our prior service and what the differences are. It was also easy to update our code to use their new API. Everything has been rock solid so far.” – Jonathan B. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Positive reviews:
“I use Postmark currently and have used it since November 2020. I use it as an SMTP for transactional email on a bunch of websites (25+). It has been as close to perfect as I’ve experienced with most any SaaS I’ve used in the last decade, and I’ve used a lot of SaaS. I used to use website servers for transactional email (terrible, opaque experience), then eventually moved over to Sendgrid (issues with spam and not great reporting), and finally settled on Postmark. I love how I get a weekly email for each website with a summary of the total emails sent through Postmark, and bounces (if any). Usually, if there are bounces it’s because someone put in the wrong email (occasionally because someone sent a prior email to spam). This has been useful to tell e-commerce clients when one of their customers didn’t receive the confirmation email due to entering the wrong email during purchase. Everything about Postmark is great – support, setup, product, visibility into what’s going on. I wasn’t sure what to expect when ActiveCampaign bought it, but so far, no change. A+, highly recommend for transactional email.” – Will Schatz ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Postmark gets your messages into inboxes every time” – Phil Clothier ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Feature Highlights: What Stands Out and What’s Missing
Here’s a look at what Postmark actually delivers – and where it falls short.
- Email Templates Library
- Email Personalization
- Transactional Email
- E-commerce Integrations
- Deliverability Tools
- Bounce & Unsubscribe Management
- Email Analytics & Reporting
- Multi-User Access
- GDPR Compliance Tools
- API & Integrations
Let’s take a closer look at what Postmark delivers with each of these features.
Email Templates Library
Postmark includes pre-built, responsive templates for common transactional scenarios – welcome emails, password resets, receipts, and more. Each can be edited in the dashboard using HTML, plain text, and Mustache-style variables, then tested with a live preview before going out.
Email Personalization
Templates support variable substitution and iterators, letting you inject recipient-specific data – names, order IDs, account details – into both HTML and plain-text versions. Merge logic stays fully in your control, with no dependency on a separate personalization tool or third-party layer.
Transactional Email
Purpose-built for triggered, one-to-one messages – confirmations, receipts, password resets – Postmark keeps transactional and bulk streams separate to protect sender reputation. Delivery is typically sub-10-second, backed by dedicated infrastructure optimized specifically for event-driven, time-sensitive email.
E-commerce Integrations
Postmark connects with WooCommerce, Shopify, and similar platforms through official and community-maintained libraries. Featured marketer-friendly tools like Mailcoach extend its utility for online retailers, letting you route order confirmations, shipping updates, and notifications directly through the platform.
Deliverability Tools
Postmark enforces DKIM, SPF, and DMARC on all outgoing mail, with dedicated IP pools and domain verification baked in. Proactive reputation monitoring and secure data center hosting give senders a clear edge over shared-infrastructure setups when inbox placement matters most.
Bounce & Unsubscribe Management
The Bounce API gives you direct access to hard and soft bounce records, lets you reactivate valid addresses, and pulls suppression lists without leaving your codebase. Unsubscribe events log per message stream, so suppression stays consistent across your setup – no manual list-cleaning required.
Email Analytics & Reporting
Every plan comes with analytics covering opens, clicks, bounces, and spam complaints – nothing buried behind an upgrade wall. Data retention varies by tier, starting at 45 days on Basic and going higher from there, which is enough runway to catch delivery issues before they compound.
Multi-User Access
Multiple team members can work under one Postmark account, with server tokens issued per project rather than globally – so a leaked credential doesn’t take down everything at once. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is available on top of that, which makes a real difference for agencies juggling several client environments.
GDPR Compliance Tools
Postmark operates under GDPR-aligned practices, covering secure hosting, access controls, and data processing agreements. Message stream isolation and programmatic suppression management give teams the structural tools needed to handle consent, data deletion requests, and compliance obligations without major custom engineering.
API & Integrations
Postmark’s REST API comes with official client libraries for Ruby, PHP, Python, Node.js, .NET, and more. Integration options span CMS platforms, e-commerce tools, and no-code connectors. Featured partners like Mailcoach add marketer-friendly layers on top of the core sending infrastructure.

Supported Integrations
| Integration | Brands Covered |
|---|---|
| E-commerce Data Sync | Stripe, WooCommerce, Shopify |
E-commerce Data Sync
Postmark leans heavily on delivery rather than data exchange with storefronts. Stripe is the one native e-commerce connection – it handles payment-triggered emails directly. Shopify and WooCommerce need a middleware layer like Zapier to work at all. Order values, SKUs, and purchase timestamps don’t sync natively.
