Positive reviews:

“Great marketing and communication platform. It has a very easy-to-use UI. I joined recently and had a great experience and I got campaigns just in 2 weeks. There are lots of useful functions and tools to use which I am still learning. Good and profitable for small to large businesses. Very convenient and useful application for online marketing with a short learning curve.” – Elmer Blanton ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“My favorite email marketing tool would have to be GetResponse so we use it at our company (Isolated Marketing Nights) for email marketing. When it comes to pros and cons, I love the fact that it is very simple to use and it has a lot of specific features that I personally like. Their autoresponder feature is fabulous, as I currently have emails to be sent out automatically for over 150 days. I also like how they have a Perfect Timing setting for broadcasts, which allows your emails to be sent out at the best time for your specific subscribers to open. In terms of cons, I would like it if there was more room for advanced features when it comes to sending autoresponder emails. For example, being able to send the previous email if it wasn’t opened or clicked, or even adding tags to specific subscribers based upon actions they have taken. This is something that you can do with GetResponse, just not when it comes to autoresponder emails. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for email marketing software that is both simple and effective.” – James Canzanella, Owner at Isolated Marketing Nights ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

I highly recommend this software to all businesses either startups or big brands. Very nice software.” – Favour N. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Negative reviews:

“They have issues with their SSL certificate that they don’t inform their users about. I built a landing page which was used in my Google Ads and Google suspended our account which has cost us thousands of dollars. When I reached out to their support they admitted they were aware of the issue. Support is useless.” – Brad A. ⭐☆☆☆☆

Positive reviews:

“We use GetResponse (GR) for (A) email marketing via autoresponders and broadcast emails (B) landing page development for some campaigns. The system has proven excellent on both fronts – especially noting the high delivery rates of emails. Furthermore, their 24*7 chat support is a definite plus for businesses since most of the queries get resolved quickly.” – Verified User ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ March 1, 2025

“We use GetResponse to achieve the necessary reach to achieve accurate, independent automation with emails and landing pages. At the same time, I love that the software is essential to create segmented lists; this has helped us to have great control and visual determination for convenience.” – Bryana Hammes ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Negative reviews:

“Their drag and drop editor is set up poorly; if you have similar look and feel emails, there is no way to know which you are in.” – Verified User ⭐☆☆☆☆

“GetResponse is well-suited for building extremely basic emails in industries where design may be less of a concern–business-to-business in the industrial sector, maybe? For emails going straight to consumers where design needs to be pleasant, and directly lead to a sale, I wouldn’t recommend GetResponse. Other more powerful and up-to-date email services will do a much better job helping the average person create a beautiful and functional newsletter.” – Brock Ross ⭐☆☆☆☆

Let’s take a closer look at what GetResponse delivers with each of these features.

Drag-and-Drop Email Builder

No coding needed – drag in text, images, and buttons, rearrange until it looks right, and you’re done. Two million free stock images and GIFs are built in, so you’re not hunting for assets elsewhere.

Email Templates Library

200+ professionally designed templates cover campaigns for pretty much any goal or occasion. Pick one, drop in your content, and you’re close to send-ready – no design background needed.

Email Automation / Drip Campaigns

A visual workflow builder lets you map the full customer journey – welcome sequences, abandoned cart follow-ups, re-engagement flows – running everything automatically off subscriber behavior and triggers you set upfront.

List Management & Segmentation

Custom tags and dynamically-updated segments let you slice your list by behavior, engagement, purchase history, or any custom field. The right message goes to the right group rather than the full list every time.

Email Personalization

Subscriber data goes into the subject lines and body copy so that communications don’t sound like generic blasts. Perfect Timing and Time Travel tools factor in each contact’s timezone, pushing sends when they’re most likely to actually land.

A/B Testing

Test subject lines, images, layouts, and CTA buttons against each other inside the same campaign. Results tell you what’s genuinely moving open and click rates – not just what you figured would work.

Transactional Email

API and SMTP-triggered transactional emails cover order confirmations, password resets, and shipping updates in real time. Available on MAX plans, they keep operational messages cleanly separated from your marketing sends.

SMS Marketing

Automated SMS campaigns send messages to users’ phones at the right time, just like email campaigns do. Available on MAX plans, SMS plugs directly into the visual workflow builder alongside everything else.

Landing Page Builder

AI-assisted landing pages come with customizable templates, A/B testing, and SEO optimization baked in. Pages connect directly to your lists, so new sign-ups enter the right sequence the moment they opt in – no manual importing.

Sign-Up Forms & Pop-Ups

Inline forms, exit-intent pop-ups, and slide-ins embed on any site with a short code snippet. Each one ties to a list or automation, so new subscribers land in the right flow the moment they opt in.

E-commerce Integrations

One-click integrations cover Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, and PrestaShop – pulling product data, order history, and customer behavior into GetResponse. Abandoned cart emails, promo codes, and AI product recommendations all run off that connected data.

Deliverability Tools

GetResponse handles SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication, ongoing sender reputation monitoring, and dedicated IP options on MAX plans. The reported 99% deliverability rate across 160+ countries is what that infrastructure actually delivers in practice.

Bounce & Unsubscribe Management

Hard and soft bounces are tracked separately, with flagged addresses automatically pulled from active sends. Unsubscribes process immediately across all campaigns, keeping your list clean and your sender score from quietly slipping.

Email Analytics & Reporting

Real-time dashboards surface open rates, click-through rates, bounce rates, click maps, and newsletter revenue attribution in one place. Campaign-level and contact-level data give enough detail to act on what you’re seeing rather than just averages.

Multi-User Access

Each team member gets their own login and permissions based on their function, such as Administrator, Designer, Marketing Manager, or a role you create yourself. A broadcast control layer adds an approval gate so nothing goes out without sign-off from whoever holds that authority.

GDPR Compliance Tools

Consent fields, double opt-in, and GDPR-friendly signup forms are built into the list tools. Data is processed and stored in line with EU regulation, with a Data Processing Agreement available for accounts that need it documented.

API & Integrations

A publicly documented RESTful API (v3) covers contacts, campaigns, automations, and reporting for custom builds. In addition to direct API access, 170+ native integrations and Zapier connectivity work with CRM, e-commerce, webinar, and lead-gen platforms without the need for bespoke development.

    Ad Network Retargeting

    • Journey Builder / Campaign Orchestration
    • Reporting & Attribution
    • API & Integrations

Let’s take a closer look at what Getresponse delivers with each of these features.

    Visual Automation Builder

Build behavior-triggered sequences on a drag-and-drop canvas using conditions, filters, and action blocks in any order you need. Prebuilt templates handle welcome flows, abandoned cart recovery, and win-back campaigns – with no limit on how many automations can run at the same time.

    Email Marketing

Newsletters, autoresponders, and RSS campaigns are built inside a drag-and-drop editor with 200+ responsive templates to start from. Describe a campaign goal in plain language and the AI Email Generator handles subject lines, preheaders, and full layouts – while Perfect Timing and Time Travel optimize delivery for each contact automatically.

    CRM / Contact Management

Native two-way sync with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 keeps contact records current across platforms, with custom fields and behavioral data flowing straight into automation logic. The built-in Sales CRM comes as a paid add-on from Plus, so deal data and contact history live in the same account.

    Lead Scoring

Email opens, link clicks, page visits, purchases, and custom events all adjust a contact’s score automatically – up or down depending on what you define. Cross a set threshold and an automation fires: pushing the contact to a pipeline stage, a different list, or a conversion-focused campaign without anyone manually reviewing the queue.

    Segmentation & Tagging

Tags are applied and removed inside automations based on any behavioral or transactional trigger, with no ceiling on how many a contact can carry. Segments update dynamically as contact data shifts, and the same filter logic applies across email, SMS, and web push – so each channel reaches the right people from a single segment definition.

    A/B Testing

Subject lines, body copy, and send times all support native split testing, and the AI Campaign Builder can produce several variants from one prompt in seconds. Automation split paths test entire journey branches rather than swapping a single element, and landing page tests push the winning version live automatically once the data is conclusive.

    Predictive Analytics / AI

The AI Product Recommendations engine runs self-learning models that match products to individual visitors by probability of conversion – surfacing those results inside emails and directly on-site. The AI Campaign Builder generates complete campaigns from a described goal, and Perfect Timing picks each contact’s optimal delivery window from their historical behavior.

    Landing Pages

The drag-and-drop page builder ships with 200+ templates covering lead capture, sales pages, and webinar registrations. Pages support A/B testing and built-in SEO tools, with an AI wizard that generates copy and layout from a text prompt. Unlimited pages unlock on the Marketer plan and carry forward to all higher tiers.

    Forms & Pop-Ups

Embedded forms, exit-intent pop-ups, scroll-triggered banners, and fullscreen overlays are all available with configurable display conditions. Each submission fires directly into automation workflows and segmentation logic, and pop-up metrics – views, click rate, leads – appear in their own reporting section rather than folding into email campaign stats.

    SMS Marketing

Native SMS is available on Creator and MAX plans and sits inside the same automation workflow as email and web push – no separate tool needed. Behavior-triggered SMS steps fire in sequence with other channel actions, and the MAX plan supports two-way messaging for more conversational subscriber interactions.

    Multi-Channel Marketing

One workflow coordinates email, SMS, web push, mobile push, live chat, and pop-ups, routing each contact based on what they actually engage with. Facebook and Google ad audiences can be updated directly from within the same automation, and the Conversion Funnel Builder ties all of those channels to a single campaign goal.

    Sales Pipeline Management

The CRM pipeline supports customizable stages with deal labels, close-by dates, assigned account managers, and projected values per opportunity. The “Add to Pipeline” automation action pushes qualifying contacts to a specific stage automatically – triggered by a score threshold or a purchase event – so sales and marketing work from the same data set.

    Transactional Email

API and SMTP-triggered transactional sends are listed on the features page for order confirmations, shipping updates, and post-purchase sequences. Access requires MAX or Enterprise, and both plans include assisted IP warmup and a dedicated sending domain for accounts operating at transactional volume.

    E-commerce Integrations

Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, and BigCommerce all connect in one click, syncing product catalogs, purchase history, and cart events in real time. Abandoned cart recovery, product recommendation blocks, promo code sync, and purchase-based segmentation all draw from that live data – no periodic CSV uploads involved.

    Web Personalization

AI Product Recommendations (MAX) places self-learning product widgets on-site and inside emails based on each visitor’s actual browsing and purchase history. URL-tracking triggers personalize follow-up emails based on which pages a contact visited, while web push notifications carry that same personalization logic directly to the browser.

    Journey Builder / Campaign Orchestration

The Conversion Funnel Builder connects landing pages, email sequences, checkout, and paid ads into a single multi-stage journey with its own analytics. The visual automation builder runs behavior-triggered campaigns across all channels from one canvas, and prebuilt journey templates for welcome, abandonment, and re-engagement come included on every paid plan.

    Reporting & Attribution

Campaign reports cover opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, replies, and revenue attribution – with an adjustable attribution window tying email clicks to store orders. Email, SMS, and WhatsApp data share a cross-channel reporting view, and automation performance data breaks down contact movement step by step, including where drop-offs happen.

    API & Integrations

The v3 REST API reaches contacts, campaigns, automations, deals, accounts, and custom objects; SMTP is available from the MAX and Enterprise tiers. App Studio covers custom low-code builds alongside native Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, and Google Ads connections. Zapier and Make handle the wider integration surface for teams that prefer a no-code path.

Feature assessments follow our review methodology.

    Supported Integrations

Event-Based TriggersShopify, WooCommerce, Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect

    Event-Based Triggers

GetResponse tracks custom website events natively via its Web Connect JS snippet – page views, product interactions, and custom behavioral events all feed into the automation engine directly. Zapier, Make, and Pabbly Connect bridge the gap by transferring purchase or CRM events into GetResponse workflows as automation triggers for events from external apps like Shopify or WooCommerce.

    • Referral Program
    • Custom Domain Support
    • Landing Page / Website Builder
    • RSS-to-Email
    • Analytics & Reporting
    • API & Integrations

Let’s take a closer look at what GetResponse delivers with each of these features.

    Newsletter Editor / Builder

The drag-and-drop email creator handles layout without touching a line of code – drag in text blocks, images, or buttons, pick from 200+ pre-built templates, and pull stock photos directly from a built-in library of over 2 million assets. An AI writing assistant layers on top to generate copy and subject lines from keywords.

    Email Automation

Email Automation Sequences trigger on opens, clicks, purchases, or time delays and run without manual intervention. The workflow builder handles welcome flows, post-purchase follow-ups, and re-engagement campaigns from the same interface.

    Subscriber Management

Contacts sit in dedicated lists, each manageable through the same dashboard used for sending. Import, export, and manual additions all work within the same interface, and the platform tracks engagement history per contact – useful when deciding who gets what message and when.

    Segmentation

Audience slicing goes beyond simple field matching. Segments can be built on behavioral signals – email activity, purchase history, site visits – or demographic data, letting senders target subsets with content that’s actually relevant rather than broadcasting the same message to every address on the list.

Paid subscriptions live in the same GetResponse account you’re already using for regular sends. Gate content behind a recurring charge, push it via email or a members’ area – revenue shows up next to your usual campaign numbers.

    Referral Program

Existing users get a shareable personal link – post it on a blog, drop it in social, or email it directly. When someone signs up through that link and buys a paid plan, both parties receive a $30 account credit. Credits apply automatically to future billing cycles.

    Custom Domain Support

Landing pages and websites published through GetResponse can be served from your own registered domain rather than a getresponse.com subdomain. The setup requires DNS configuration, and once connected, the custom domain applies across landing pages, giving campaigns a branded, consistent web presence.

    Landing Page / Website Builder

An AI-assisted website builder generates a starting layout from a short description of your business, which you can then reshape through a visual editor – no developer needed. The result connects directly with email lists, signup forms, and automation flows already inside the account.

    RSS-to-Email

Connect an RSS feed and new blog posts go out as emails automatically – no manual drafting each time. For content-heavy publishers pushing updates regularly, it keeps the list engaged without adding to the workload.

    Analytics & Reporting

Standard campaign metrics – open rates, click-through rates, unsubscribes, bounces – are available per send. The dashboard surfaces trends over time rather than just snapshot numbers, and for ecommerce setups, revenue attribution connects email activity back to actual sales data.

    API & Integrations

The v3 REST API covers most of what the web interface does: contact management, campaign creation, stats retrieval, and segmentation. Requests run on standard HTTP methods, authenticate via API key header, and return JSON. Rate limits and webhook support are covered separately in the docs – worth checking before building anything at higher send volumes.
